were also dropped at Bridge No. 178 (Km. 109/88) with the

result that the ballast wall and some rubble pitching of this

bridge were damaged. I bomb was dropped on the main line

Tong Tou Ha

Tou Ha station damaging 2 rails.

Repair work was immediately put in hand. Through

traffics was not suspended.

37TH NOVAK

TONG TOU BA - SHEK KU. At about 13.00 hours the Railway

was attacked by 6 enemy planes. 1 bomb was dropped at Km. 118)

seriously damaging the road bed while about 800 feet of the

track were thrown out of position. 1 bomb was dropped at

Bridge No. 177 (Km. 115. 11) the south abutment of which was

completely demolished, and the last span of the girder dropped

into the river. About 500 feet of track near this bridge

were also seriously damaged. 3 bombs aimed at Bridge No. 179

(Km. 116.06)were dropped but without any damage.

88TH KOVA, BAR.

TONI TOU HA - SHEK IV. At about 11.00 hours 6 enemy

planes raided the Railway when 4 bdubs were dropped, 1 at

Km109/18 damaging the telegraph and telephone wires; 2 at

Bridge No. 172 (Km. 109.88) of which the 2nd pier sheared off

into 3 pieces, the girders slightly damaged and thrown out of

position for about 6 inches, and the rails and sleepers on

top of the bridge thrown into the river; and 1 at Km. 118/9

damaging about 100 feet of track.

Repair work was immediately put in hand.
